In the Society 5.0 era, education is required to utilize digital technology to create engaging, creative, and student-centered learning processes. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Canva visual media on the Arabic vocabulary mastery of eighth-grade students at SMP IT Imam Asy-Syafii 2 in Pekanbaru. This study employs a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 23 eighth-grade students. Data collection techniques included tests, observations, student response questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis utilized the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test via SPSS 25, as the data were non-normally distributed. The null hypothesis (H₀) was that there would be no increase in scores from the pretest to the posttest following the intervention, while the alternative hypothesis (H₁) was that there would be an increase in scores from the pretest to the posttest following the intervention. Additionally, the N-Gain test was employed to measure the level of effectiveness of using Canva. The research results indicate an increase in students’ mastery of Arabic vocabulary following the use of the Canva visual media. The pretest mean score of 62.26 increased to 94.48 on the posttest. The results of the hypothesis test showed that the significance value was 0.000 < 0.05, so H₁ was accepted and H₀ was rejected. Additionally, the N-Gain test result of 0.85 falls into the high category, indicating that the Canva visual media is effective in improving students’ mastery of Arabic vocabulary. Students also responded very positively to the use of Canva because learning became more engaging, interactive, and facilitated the understanding of Arabic vocabulary. This study contributes to the development of effective technology-based Arabic learning media that aligns with the learning characteristics of the Society 5.0 era.
