Abstract

Learning English through reading and writing methods is considered boring, especially for students who may look at gadgets more often than looking at and reading books, bringing new habits for students or students. For example, the habit of watching English movies can encourage students to have good English speaking skills because speaking requires mastery of vocabulary and the arrangement of words, phrases, sentences as well as the intent to be conveyed. This study aims to determine the relationship between the habit of watching English movies using subtitles to increase interest in learning English. This research was conducted on third semester students of English for Business and Professional Communication class 2B of Malang State Polytechnic. This research uses a method used in this research in the form of quantitative methods in the form of surveys through google forms that take samples of 3rd semester students of English for business and professional communication study programs totaling 11 students, this survey contains how often they watch English films.
