Student Interest in Starting a Business

Abstract

The digital age has a huge impact on the business world. Technological advances have an impact on increasing everyone's creativity in determining which business to run. However, interest or willingness is still the main thing that encourages them to carry out these activities. This research was conducted at Malang State Polytechnic with the research subjects of English Language Study Program students with two problem formulations. First, how much interest is there in starting a business. Second, what is the reason they are interested in starting a business. The research method used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. Data collection was done through interviews and distributing questionnaires. The results obtained from the research show that the majority of students of the D-4 English for Communication and Professional study program at Malang State Polytechnic are interested in starting a business for various reasons such as wanting to work without pressure, wanting to retire early so they can immediately enjoy life or make a business as a side job.
