Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of principal management in strengthening Islamic values in Early Childhood Education (ECE) institutions. Strengthening Islamic values in early childhood is an important aspect of developing children’s character, moral, and spiritual values from an early age. In its implementation, principals have a strategic role in managing educational programs, building Islamic school culture, guiding teachers, and establishing cooperation with parents and the community. This study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. The research population consisted of principals and teachers from Islamic-based Early Childhood Education institutions. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics to determine the relationship between principal management and the strengthening of Islamic values.

The findings of the study indicate that principal management has a significant influence on strengthening Islamic values in Early Childhood Education. Principals who are able to carry out management functions effectively, such as planning, organizing, supervising, and evaluating educational programs, can create a religious school environment that supports the development of Islamic character among children. In addition, collaboration between principals, teachers, and parents also strengthens the implementation of Islamic values in learning activities and children’s daily lives. This study concludes that principal management is an important factor in the successful strengthening of Islamic values in Islamic-based Early Childhood Education institutions. Therefore, improving principals’ managerial and leadership competencies should become a major concern in enhancing the quality of Islamic early childhood education.
