English Learning Methods in Higher Education in the Post-Pandemic Period

Abstract

No longer just a study material or compulsory course, English is a very influential language for students to learn because it is a medium to bridge to achieve various achievements. Moreover, English has also become the first global Lingua Franca, where English has become an inseparable part of every existing field. Meanwhile, to have good English skills, a qualified learning method is needed to help the learning process so that later the results obtained are as desired. This research focuses on finding out what kind of learning methods are of interest to Malang State Polytechnic students and why these methods have a lot of interest. We took an analysis of methods from Malang State Polytechnic students, especially Commercial Administration majors in English for Business and Professional Communication. The results of the analysis found several methods that were most and least in demand by Polinema students. Through the research method that the author tested, namely quantitative methods using Google Forms involving 15 respondents, it was found that the most suitable method for students was the tour learning method. By knowing the method of learning English that is most in demand by Polinema students, we know that learning English on campus will be easily understood well by using this method.
